Once again we are soliciting photos of your Kerries—all Kerries-- to be considered for the Y2021 Kerry Blue Terrier Foundation Rescue Calendar. We are almost halfway through this year: time seems to be flying again, doesn’t it? While this may be hard to believe wrap our minds about the reality is that if we want to have the calendar available by late September so you will have plenty of time to order copies for your holiday gift giving, we need to start collecting photos now. This is your opportunity to make your special Kerry a real rock start!

In early March, just as the coronavirus was impacting how we all communicated, networked, and conducted dog rescue, KBTF rescue coordinator Rhonda MacDonald was contacted about Lew, a 7-yr purebred Kerry in need of a new home. His mom was anticipating having major back surgery, and would not be able to care for Lew any longer.

Now, far be it from your Kerry Blue to suggest that on-line retail is COVID-proof. However, it may be fun for your Kerry to enjoy his or her material possession (ie, you. You are owned by a Kerry Blue) via a few appropriate accessories.

So, Covid left most of us without many services of luxury during quarantine! But really, are services like nails, hair and dog grooming luxury or necessity??

Hi, Here is a little story of the pic. In this picture Hugo is visiting an ice swimming place by the lake Pyhäselkä (in Finland).

While dog grooming salons in some states were allowed to remain open for the past few months, many states required groomers to shut down along with other services deemed non-essential. Even as more groomers are able to open up recently, getting in may be competitive. Now, any Kerry owner knows that after a couple months, a bath and a haircut start smelling and looking pretty essential.

"Ahhh," you murmured to yourself. "More time enjoying my home and engaging with my Kerry. What a gift!" Perhaps you envisioned napping together on the couch, or pleasant moments standing in your driveway and chatting (six feet apart) with neighbors you don't regularly see, while your Kerry looks on benevolently.

Covid-19 created a new world for most of us. With schools closed and so many ‘nonessential workers’ and unemployed staying home with whole families all together, the level of anxiety rose in our homes.
