Features & Appearance
Known for its thick sturdy coat, Kerry Blue Terriers are seen in various shades of blue—from deep onyx to a very light slate grey. When you touch the fur you find it soft and dense as it covers a slim muscular body. Measuring at the shoulder, the Kerry Blue stands 18-20 inches or below. Kerries typically can weigh up to 40 pounds and as low as 28 to 30, depending on diet & exercise. They are easy to spot by their defined beards, sharp eyes and a bridge of fur between their eyes. The historical nature of the Kerry Blue Terrier is as a long lived terrier hunting & hearing breed.
